Usually edited by the magazine editor — “Peer-reviewed” which means that the materials were read by different people who also have degree in that particular area.
Popular journal
Pro: It is easy to find and is easy reading. It usually contains many different subjects which might help the students to just use a few of these magazines to find their information.
Cons: Though it is published, it might still contain biased idea or view. Since people who write these materials can write what they desire to write and see things as they want to, the subject might be looked as something different. These journals are very opinionated.
Scholarly Journal
Pro: These journals contain very accurate about the subject that are presenting. These journals are usually “peer-reviewed” by other people who have their degrees in that subject areas. The journals usually refer to other scholarly journals for more information or for better explanation.
Cons: As they are written by the scholars, these journals are really long and boring at times. The information might be presented with the terminology that is only understood among the people who have studied that subject. These magazines are usually harder to get in the hands.
